Following on from my painting last Easter, portraying the Palm Sunday entrance into Jerusalem, of Jesus on a donkey.
This year, I was commissioned to create a painting to symbolise the empty tomb and resurrection of Jesus. I was inspired by the sunrise of that Easter morning, using this as my primary base of orange, pinks and golds.
The cross is depicted in a striking blue to accentuate its impact against the balmy sky.
I was delighted to be interviewed at the Easter Sunday service, to discuss this work. The painting is currently on display in my local church.
